ARIZONA STATE STANDARD 

FLOODPLAIN ISSUES IN TRANSPORTATION DESIGN

ADWR is offering a workshop in the application of Floodplain Issues in Transportation Design (updated from 2006). The 6-hour course will present background information with respect to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Arizona Department of Water Resources in floodplain management issues relative to transportation design. Participants will be taught the application of hydrologic and hydraulic methods in designing roadway crossings, as well as sediment/geomorphic parameters. Design guidelines, processes and illustrated examples will be provided.
